According to European research in 2006, online advertising figures will double by 2012 to 16bn euros. The report claims that online adverts would rise to 18% of market share, up from the 9% in 2006.
This just proves to us how vital online advertising is to this continent and with only 4 years to go and the introduction of mobile internet I don't see why these figures may be a bit low. With Google introducing their own mobile software in the near future, we'll be seeing a far different type of advertising to that of the past. We may be paying good money to appear on somebody's phone before a phone call or while they browse the internet.
This ever changing and demanding world of online advertising is hard to predict. So will these figures prove right? Personally, I don't think so, like mentioned before Google Android is almost ready to change the way we browse once more, this time on our mobiles!
